So, you want to know what are some best practices to reinforce your company culture in your selection process and in your recruitment process.

Let me first start by saying that the number one job of every leader or manager is to ensure that you have the right people and that you would enthusiastically rehire every one of them again.

The first place to start is to make sure that you have a scorecard and never interview without one. A scorecard lists not just the productivity that you need from this position, but it also lists the competencies and specifically what are the core values. So, list your core values in the competencies, and then in the selection process make sure that you're asking behavioral questions to ensure that their core values align with yours.

Now, something that my clients do is that they'll send out their core values to prospective employees before the initial phone screen or before that first interview and ask them to respond back how they live these in their personal or heir professional life and they use that to actually eliminate candidates you know right from the start.

On the recruitment side, still the number one way the number the number one best practice for recruitment are referrals, and what better than to have somebody who has seen someone in action working at a company and seeing what their behaviors are and what their cultures are inside that company. It's a lot safer bet to see that and have someone as a referral than to test for it in an interview.

The second best practice to reinforce culture through recruitment is getting your marketing department involved; so just as you expect them to fill the pipeline with prospective customers, have them also fill the pipeline with prospective employees. One of the ways that they can do this is to create campaigns around your core purpose because you want to hire people who believe what you believe.

So in conclusion, there are some things that you can do to reinforce your company culture through both your recruitment process as well as your selection process. Contact me if you want any assistance in discussing this further. Thank you.
